And while I think he deserves that same consideration in fantasy drafts, players that expect another 13 touchdowns could be disappointed. Ja'Marr Chase was an undeniable hit on a top-five NFL draft pick that has historically been higher than most teams have considered wide receivers. But Jefferson has demonstrated a versatility that will allow new head coach and former Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell to move him around in the formation like O’Connell did with Kupp last season to great success. There may not be a ton of room for improvement from a 1,600-yard, 10-touchdown season. But Jefferson was just as effective with an 85.2% success rate against zone coverage that ranked sixth among Reception Perception’s charted receivers. Justin Jefferson’s top four 78.0% route success rate versus man may have been obvious from his exceptional size, athleticism and production in his sophomore season. But I don’t think Kupp needs that to have a standout encore season. I expect a rebound from Allen Robinson, which I will detail later in this article. Kupp averaged nearly identical rates of 11.6 targets and 21.6 fantasy points per game in Weeks 1-11 as his 10.7 and 21.6 rates in Weeks 12-18 after Beckham joined the team and became a full-time player. But I did wonder how important Odell Beckham was for his success, since Cooper Kupp led Reception Perception’s charted receivers with a 91.4% route success rate versus zone coverage but was just 31st with a 67.6% success rate versus man coverage. Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles RamsĪny criticism of last year’s receiving triple crown winner would be splitting hairs. Sign up for everything FTN Fantasy has to offer! 1.
